Hi everyone! 👋🏼 My name is Mrs. Blain, and I am so excited to be your Librarian at Ann Smith Elementary!🩵

This school has always held such a special place in my heart, from being a student here myself years ago and graduating from Ridgeland High School, to now working here as an adult. I’m so incredibly honored to have the opportunity to be your Librarian.

This year in the library students will have the opportunity to hear stories that mirror the curriculum they are working on in class, learn how to use the school library effectively and confidently, and how to be a good digital citizen in a technology age. We will also cover information literacy for our 2nd graders later in the year as we become literacy detectives learning how to tell the difference between good and bad information sources. 
In addition, students will work with different STEM and literacy-based manipulatives during centers rotation, as well as one whole group, themed activity each month. We are also still using the AR system where students can read books and take quizzes for points! 

I am very excited to make this a great year for our wonderful students. It’s a great day to be a Titan!🩵
